Life Groups

Life Groups serve 2 purposes - to build stronger relationships between believers and to lay a foundation for others God will bring into our growing church family. In-home life group connections meet every 4th Sunday evening at various times specified by your life group leader. We encourage you to find your group of similar interest and walks of life. There are many to choose from, so we know you will find your perfect fit.

Men's Ministry

Led by Roy Lee, the goal of our men’s ministry is to enable Christ-centered and Spirit-filled leaders, provide opportunities for fellowship and service, and to help support missions by raising funds for missions endeavors, both home and abroad.

As a part of our mission, men’s ministry leads the effort in putting on Chicken Purleu, the largest event held on our campus. Chicken Purleu is held the first Thursday of November every year from 4-8PM. This event features live music and entertainment, and an all-you-can-eat meal featuring our famous chicken and rice recipe, accompanied by cole slaw, pound cake, and iced tea. All proceeds from Chicken Purleu go to missions.

We offer several opportunities every year to get together to fellowship and have a good time in the Lord. Our Saturday fish fry is held every few months in the Fellowship Hall at 6PM. We also have an annual spring “Whole-In-One” golf tournament at Dogwood Lakes Gold Club. Our men’s retreat is another opportunity to fellowship together, from visiting the USS Alabama Museum to catching a minor league baseball game. Stay tuned to our news & events page for men’s ministry fellowship announcements!

Women's Ministry

Led by First Lady Kim Moore, the goal of our women’s ministry is for every woman to come to a full knowledge of the saving grace of Jesus Christ and experience the freedom and power of the Holy Spirit. We believe God desires for his daughters to know they are valued in every step of life and develop their talents and abilities to serve him to the fullest potential.

We hold several women’s events in efforts of supporting missions. Our “Picnic Under The Stars” event is held every Spring and is an opportunity for fellowship and encouragement for all women. “Celebrate the Seasons” tea is held every November and is a fun time of decorating, food, and fellowship to complement the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Ticket sales from these events go toward missions projects locally and globally.

As part of our mission, we strive to give every woman the opportunity to spend time with the Lord and experience his presence to empower them to raise a Christ-centered family and maintain daily communion with him. Ladies Bible Study begins Fridays at 9AM in the conference room. “Refresh!” is a quarterly event to strengthen and encourage women. We encourage you to bring a friend and a missions offering along. Every summer, we also hold our ladies conference for a time of worship and refocusing, as well as food and fellowship for our ladies. At our District Assemblies of God campgrounds in Marianna, we gather with women from West Florida for the annual “Sister 2 Sister” retreat in the fall and “Chrysalis” retreat in the spring. From workshops to outreach projects, these events are priceless opportunities to bring spiritual refreshing to women at Carmel. Stay tuned to our news and events page for details on women’s ministry events.

Senior Adults

Led by Pastor Jonathan West, the goal of our Cornerstone ministry is to reach out and honor our elders both at Carmel and around our community, providing opportunities to participate in fellowship and travel the country without limitations. To include as many as possible, this ministry is open to anyone 55 and above.

We currently offer Adult Bible Study, a class for all seniors as well as adults of any age. This course is held in the sanctuary and is taught Sundays at 9AM by Roger White and Wednesdays at 6:30PM by Pastor Jonathan West. For a complete list of course offerings, please visit Christian Education.

We seek to provide a chance for seniors to live life without limitations in providing fellowships and trips. Our Cornerstone luncheon is held the first Tuesday of every month in the Fellowship Hall at 11:30 a.m. In the spring, we put on a health fair in which we bring in organizations from the community to come and offer services such as blood pressure checks, vision checks, and more. In addition, we also provide retreats throughout the year to enable our seniors to travel and enjoy their golden years. These range from cruises to bus tours, scenic travel and more. And for single senior adult ladies, our “Home Alone Too’s” (HAT’s) ministry meets the third Thursday of every month for lunch and shopping outings. No matter your age, there is something for you at Carmel! Stay tuned to our news and events page for details on Cornerstone ministry events.
